Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter
  • 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (60g) cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (175g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13-inch (23x33cm) baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar until well combined.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring even distribution throughout the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs, not wet batter.
  8. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into squares.

Notes

For an extra fudgy texture, make sure not to overbake. The brownies will continue to set as they cool, so it’s better to slightly underbake them for the perfect gooey consistency.
