Instructions

  1. Rinse the dried pinto beans and remove any debris. Place them in a large pot with 8 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 1-2 hours or until beans are tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beans, chopped onion, diced bell pepper, barbecue sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well to combine.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Transfer the bean mixture to a baking dish and top with the crumbled bacon.
