Fantasy Fudge

Ingredients

  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 package (12 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 jar (7 ounces) marshmallow creme
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line a 9-inch square baking pan with foil, leaving an overhang on two opposite sides. Grease the foil with butter or cooking spray.
  2. In a heavy saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, butter, and evaporated milk. Stir continuously until the mixture comes to a boil. Continue boiling for 4-5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in chocolate chips until fully melted.
  4. Add marshmallow creme and vanilla extract, stirring until well combined.
  5. If desired, fold in chopped nuts.
  6. Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  7. Allow the fudge to cool at room temperature until set.
  8. Once set, lift the fudge from the pan using the foil overhang. Cut into squares.
