Ginger Soy Tofu Marinade

Ginger Soy Tofu Marinade

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or agave nectar
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 block (14 ounces) firm tofu, pressed and sliced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, grated ginger, minced garlic, maple syrup (or agave nectar), and sriracha sauce.
  2. Place the sliced tofu in a shallow dish or a zip-top bag.
  3. Pour the marinade over the tofu, making sure each piece is well-coated.
  4. Cover the dish or seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or preferably overnight for more flavor.
  5. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  6. Grill the marinated tofu for 3-4 minutes on each side or until grill marks appear.
  7. Serve the ginger soy tofu over rice or in a salad.

Notes

For an extra kick, sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top before serving. Adjust the sriracha sauce to your spice preference. Marinating overnight enhances the flavor, but 30 minutes will still yield delicious results.
