Peach Cobbler Delight

Peach Cobbler Delight

This Peach Cobbler Delight is a timeless dessert that brings a comforting mix of juicy peaches and buttery, golden-brown batter. Perfect for any occasion, it’s easy to prepare and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Four cups of peeled and sliced fresh peaches (or canned, drained).
  • One cup of granulated sugar, divided.
  • One-half cup of unsalted butter, melted.
  • One cup of all-purpose flour.
  • Two teaspoons of baking powder.
  • One-fourth teaspoon of salt.
  • One cup of milk.
  • One teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  • Optional: One-half teaspoon of ground cinnamon and one-fourth teaspoon of ground nutmeg.

Instructions

  • Prepare the Peaches
    • If using fresh peaches, peel and slice them. Toss with half a cup of sugar in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  • Preheat and Grease
    • Preheat your oven to three hundred seventy-five degrees Fahrenheit (one hundred ninety degrees Celsius). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Mix the Batter
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and the remaining sugar. Add the milk and vanilla extract, stirring gently until just combined.
  • Layer the Ingredients
    • Pour the melted butter into the prepared baking dish, covering the bottom evenly.
    • Gently pour the batter over the butter, ensuring not to mix.
    • Arrange the sugared peaches evenly over the batter. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg, if desired.
  • Bake the Cobbler
    • Place the dish in the oven and bake for forty to forty-five minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the batter comes out clean.
  • Cool and Serve
    • Remove from the oven and let the cobbler cool slightly. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.

Notes

  • Peach Options: Fresh peaches are ideal, but canned or frozen peaches work well. Drain canned peaches and thaw frozen ones before using.
  • Butter Layer: Do not mix the butter with the batter; this layering creates the cobbler’s signature texture.
  • Spice Adjustments: Cinnamon and nutmeg are optional but add a warm, autumnal touch. Feel free to adjust amounts to taste.
  • Serving Tip: Best enjoyed warm, but leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated for a comforting snack.
