Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tuna ribeye steaks
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ½ cup diced onion
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup fish or vegetable broth
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Season tuna ribeye steaks with salt and pepper.
  • Sear steaks for 2-3 minutes on each side, ensuring the exterior is browned while the interior remains pink. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  • Add butter to the skillet, followed by diced onions, cooking until softened (about 3-4 minutes).
  • Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  • Pour in the broth, bringing the mixture to a simmer. Allow it to reduce slightly over 5 minutes.
  • Mix in heavy cream and lemon juice, cooking until the sauce thickens (about 3-4 minutes).
  • Return tuna steaks to the skillet, spooning the gravy over them. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Cooking Doneness: For perfect texture, aim to keep the tuna slightly pink in the middle when searing.
  • Gravy Consistency: If the gravy seems too thick, add a splash of broth or water to thin it.
  • Substitutions: Coconut cream can replace heavy cream for a dairy-free version.
  • Serving Suggestion: Pair with mashed potatoes or steamed asparagus for a balanced meal.
