Raw Tofu Marinade

Savory Sesame Ginger Tofu Marinade

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or agave nectar
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha or chili sauce (optional for spice)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 block (14 ounces) extra-firm tofu, pressed and cubed

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, maple syrup, grated ginger, minced garlic, and sriracha (if using).
  2. Add sesame seeds and chopped green onion to the marinade, mix well.
  3. Cut the pressed tofu into cubes and gently toss them in the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
  5. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  6. Thread marinated tofu cubes onto skewers or place them directly on the grill.
  7. Grill for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until the tofu develops a golden-brown crust.
  8. Serve the grilled tofu on its own, in salads, or as a protein-packed addition to your favorite dishes.

Notes
