Stir Fry Tofu Marinade

Ginger Sesame Tofu Stir Fry

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or agave nectar
  • 2 teaspoons fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Cooked brown rice or noodles for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, maple syrup, grated ginger, minced garlic, and cornstarch to make the marinade.
  2. Place cubed tofu in a shallow dish and pour half of the marinade over it. Allow tofu to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or preferably overnight in the refrigerator.
  3. In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add marinated tofu and cook until golden brown on all sides. Remove tofu from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed and stir-fry the bell pepper, broccoli, and julienned carrot until vegetables are crisp-tender.
  5. Return the cooked tofu to the pan and add the remaining marinade. Stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is well coated and heated through.
  6. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
  7. Serve the Ginger Sesame Tofu Stir Fry over cooked brown rice or noodles.

Notes
